Ioannis E. Saridakis, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

Dr. Ioannis E. Saridakis is Assistant Professor of Corpus Linguistics and Translation at the Faculty of Turkish Studies and Modern Asian Studies of the University of Athens. From 2000 to 2012, he had worked as member of the teaching staff (Lecturer and Tenured Assistant Professor) at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University, teaching courses of Technical Translation and Computers in Translation.

He has also worked as a professional translator and head of a translation agency (1990-2000), as scientific collaborator, inter alia, of NATO's translation service (SHAPE, JCSC), of the EC (Phare-Bulgaria), of the translation service of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, of the Army History Directorate of the Hellenic Army General Staff, of the Athens Olympic Games Organising Committee ("Athens 2004"), and of the Hellenic Institute of Defence Analyses. Member of the Coordination Committee of the Postgraduate Studies Programme Science of Translation, academic coordinator of the "IT Applications in Translation" specialisation, at the Ionian University (2001-2010).
His main research areas are Corpus Linguistics (with emphasis on the field of Corpus Translation Studies, CTS) and Specialised Translation and Terminology.
